Salary Range $60,000 Annual salary, Commission Eligible JOB SUMMARY: Generate profitable activities (project sales, service, rental and parts) for Empire’s Pump Division.
Utilizing in-depth knowledge of fluid dynamics and mechanical systems, the Sales Representative will be responsible for the proper application of Empire owned assets used for moving a variety of fluids.
These pump systems will be designed to safely meet client needs and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Educates customers about (EPS) capabilities.
• Answers customer questions about company services, warranty adjustments, parts return, credit and finance, and rentals.
• Presents Empire’s strengths and capabilities to the customer.
• Knows the various warranties offered.
Make effective use of programs such as Parts Exchange, Planned Component Replacement.
• Stays informed about new product offerings, sales techniques and service updates.
• Maintains and increases percentage of total sales with each assigned account.
• Knows customers and territory well enough to predict each customer’s trend for the coming year.
• Achieves marketing goals established with the Commercial Service Operations Manager.
• Assists assigned customers in all EPS areas including billings, warranty, purchases, and tours of the facilities.
• Expedites parts and service to customers in remote or outlying areas.
• Assists in administration of service merchandising programs such as Wear Analysis, and General Engine Maintenance Contracts.
• Works safely at all times.
Adheres to all applicable safety policies.
Complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • Continually look for new and better ways to market EPS services and products.
• Control all expenses within guidelines as outlined by policy.
• Keep EPS management personnel current on all competitive activity in assigned territories.
• Relay any pertinent sales and rental information to Commercial Engine Sales Engineers.
Submit complete and timely reports.
• Visit new prospects and add new accounts.
Meet sales control customer contact requirements.
• Maintain up-to-date customer call lists and other records.
• Attend sales and special meetings.
• Perform other duties as directed by management.
• Works within and promotes corporate values.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to assist customers and employees in a professional manner.
• Must have sales skills to effectively help the customer, overcome objections, and close the sale.
• Must be well organized to efficiently handle job duties and make effective sales presentations.
• Must have sufficient engine, generator and switch gear knowledge to understand customer's equipment problems and to express these problems to the appropriate people at Empire Power Systems.
• Must have strong written communication skills suitable for transmitting detailed technical proposals.
• Must be able to identify parts and their related areas on the equipment merchandised by Empire Power Systems.
• Must have personal computer skills necessary to manage database applications and Microsoft Excel applications.
• Ability to maintain consistent attendance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Previous commercial engine service and parts experience.
• Previous experience solving technical problems on the products sold and serviced.
• Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
