Elko Administrative and Outreach Assistant will:
Report directly to NOS Executive Director
Always strive to uphold NOS Mission and Core Values and maintain strong
relationship with other NOS team members
Treat all NOS electronic and financial data and AmeriCorps Member personal
information with utmost confidentiality
Maintain and administer the needs of the NOS Winnemucca Office
Obtain office and program supplies as needed for Winnemucca office
departments, submit all expense receipts to NOS Director of Finance within 5
business days
Check office voicemail and relay messages
Filing of program documents, participant agreements, pre and post surveys and
medical history forms, making new member or employee personnel files
Organizing & restocking of Winnemucca office, program and camping equipment
and materials, assist in preparing program supplies (such as shopping or
laminating materials)
Assist Director of Finance with program and grant reporting, such as scanning or
copying timesheets, service logs, receipts and vehicle logs
Enter debit and credit card charges and incoming revenue to Quickbooks
accounting system
Assist in tracking actual spending versus program and operational budgets
Make Ride Safe Ride Smart OHV safety cards
Updating programming and outreach calendars, adding participant and teacher
emails to mailchimp lists and entering participant data to NOS data worksheet
Act as NOS AmeriCorps service resource in absence of NOS Winnemucca
Programs Coordinator
Occasionally participate and assist in NOS events and program activities as necessary
Perform other general office duties as needed with the ability to multitask
Attend various outreach and recruiting events on behalf of Nevada Outdoor School
Record video and take photos of NOS programs and edit as necessary, organize
and reviewing photos for NOS Flickr page
Attend various outreach and recruiting events to promote NOS and the
AmeriCorps Program, sometimes after regular business hours and on weekends
Attend training workshops and conferences
Attend professional development opportunities to increase job related skills and
experience.
These are training opportunities paid for by NOS.
Skills/Experience Desired:
At least 2 years’ experience with administrative management
Basic clerical skills: maintain schedules and calendars, record keeping,
answering phones, filing documents, etc.
Experience in public speaking
Experience with Microsoft Office products – Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, etc.
Solid work ethic
Willingness to be flexible
Good organizational and communication skills
Valid driver’s license with good driving record
Benefits
This is a part time position, averaging 20 hours per week, requiring the person to be in
the NOS office or at NOS outdoor programming most of that time.
Employee is subject
to all policies and procedures currently in place by NOS including the holiday and
personal time off policy.
