As a Medical Technician, you play a direct role in saving the lives of our patients each day by serving our residents in a safe environment promoting long term recovery.
You will partner with the Nursing and Clinical Services departments to ensure that all aspects of medical care provided is consistent in quality and in accordance with applicable standards and regulations.
*Requirements:* * Certification as a Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant is required.
* COVID –19 Vaccination approved exemption status Specific Duties and Responsibilities: 1.
Performs routine and special laboratory tests.
2.
Recognizes test inconsistencies and takes appropriate corrective action.
3.
Calls critical test results to physicians or nurses immediately and according to established criteria.
4.
Performs quality-control tests within designated areas and within designated guidelines.
Holds patient results until out-of-control situations are resolved.
Reports an unresolved situation to the laboratory manager.
5.
Performs preventive maintenance and troubleshooting following department preventive maintenance schedules.
Performs and documents all instrument checks, preventive maintenance, routine maintenance, problems and maintains corrective action log.
6.
Helps evaluate new techniques and procedures in terms of space and personnel requirements, method comparison, cost analysis, and the establishment of reference intervals.
7.
Performs clerical functions associated with the designated laboratory area.
8.
Performs specimen collection and processing duties as needed or assigned and according to policies established in the phlebotomy area.
