Mental Health Counselor

Responsibilities: - Provide direct care and support to patients with behavioral health needs - Conduct patient assessments to gather information about their mental health history and current condition - Assist in the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans - Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patients for any adverse reactions - Facilitate group therapy sessions using various therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and behavioral therapy - Collaborate with the clinical team to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for patients - Document patient progress, behaviors, and treatment interventions accurately and timely - Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques when necessary Skills: - Strong knowledge of behavioral health principles and practices - Understanding of social work principles and techniques - Familiarity with PTSD care and trauma-informed approaches - Knowledge of psychopharmacology and ability to administer medications safely - Proficiency in various therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and behavioral therapy - Ability to conduct patient assessments and develop individualized treatment plans - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective patient interaction - Strong clinical counseling skills to provide guidance and support to patients Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
