00 Annually JOB SUMMARY: Supervise and lead the tasks and budget of a multi shift, 24 / 7 service area that operates at mine sites.
Manage client requested repairs, warranty repairs and client service agreements in timely and professional manner while exhibiting Empire’s values.
Maintain work force, equipment, and supplies to insure adequate standards of quantity workmanship.
Assume responsibility for evaluating employees, meeting production schedules, following and developing systems and procedures, practicing effective oral and written communication, and making decisions within established guidelines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Keeps the Manager informed about activities and problems.
• Completes budget and production planning.
Plans and organizes long/short term support needs.
Maintains orderly flow of task from multiply worksites.
• Ensures that the work force, equipment, and supplies are adequate to meet projects’ needs.
• Maintains good employee relations.
Initiates Human Resources paperwork as required.
Works with lead people to complete assessments for all employees in the work area.
• Develops continuous employee training and development programs.
• Reviews work orders.
Maintains responsibility for warranty, policy and rework decisions, final review, closing, crediting, and recharging of all work orders.
• Implements safety policies to responsible teams and sites.
• Create an environment of ownership and personal accountability where each person is responsible and accountable for their performance.
• Work safely at all times.
Adhere to all applicable safety policies.
Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • Completes budget and production reports.
• Achieves a high level of client satisfaction.
• Maintains workforce by forecasting workforce requirements, equipment, and supplies to provide the quality and quantity to meet work demands.
• Communicates with proper individuals to clarify instructions or discuss scope or progress of job.
• Works within and promotes corporate values.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to assist and support clients and employees.
• Must have excellent oral and communication skills.
Good presentation skills sufficient for client presentations and staff reports.
• Must have the ability to express company values and vision to stake holder and maintain professionalism.
• Must have mechanical aptitude and equipment knowledge of Caterpillar and other related equipment.
• Must have extensive knowledge of Empire’s Service, Parts & Sales Operations.
• Must have sufficient knowledge to effectively utilize PC, web, and database systems.
Must be able to utilize computer-based service and work order management systems.
• Ability to maintain consistent attendance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field and/or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 1 year experience in supervising and/or management of Service Operations.
• Knowledge of Caterpillar and other related Heavy Construction and Mining Equipment.
• Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
