JOB TITLE: Senior Operations Accountant DEPARTMENT: Administration LOCATION: Robinson Mine - Ruth, NV POSITION REPORTS TO: Controller ROTATING SHIFT: Yes No EXEMPT NONEXEMPT Robinson Nevada Mining Company operates the Robinson Copper Mine near Ruth Nevada just outside Ely, Nevada.

PURPOSE & SCOPE OF THE POSITION: The Senior Operations Accountant performs a wide range of operations accounting duties in accordance with established corporate accounting policies and in compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
Works closely with other members of the finance department and mine operating departments to ensure accuracy and budgetary parameters remain within guidelines.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Follow safe work procedures and best practices.
All RNMC employees are accountable for the safety of themselves as well as that of their coworkers.
Prepare month end journal entries, account reconciliations, prepare and distribute interim, monthly, and Year to Date business reports.
Assist in cash forecasting and banking.
Work directly with the Mine Operational Departments in identifying and analyzing costs.
Assist in the preparation and development of financial and job cost analysis reports.
Develop and maintain accounting policy guidelines, procedures, and internal control documents.
Maintain an accurate general ledger, perform fixed asset and inventory balancing, and sub-ledger and general ledger troubleshooting.
Review and advise on AFE submissions as appropriate.
Assist managing capital and fixed assets on the balance sheet.
Assist with compliance and auditing.
Have a customer service focus.
Assist with internal auditing.
Willingness to perform other duties as necessary to ensure the success of KGHM.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: Two (2) or more years’ experience working with an ERP system such as JDEdwards.
Minimum of five (5) years in an equivlent position, preferably in the mining industry.
A working knowledge of payroll, accounts payable, fixed assets, production, and general mine operations accounting procedures.
A valid driver's license.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: College degree in accounting/finance is preferred.
TECHNICAL SKILLS: Working knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and mining industries accounting policies, procedures, and practices is desirable.
Ability to meet deadlines and work with minimum supervision.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Experience in report development in ERP systems (JDEdwards, Essbase, GL Inquiry) is considered an asset.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: N/A SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Sedentary: Exerting up to 15 pounds of force occasionally and or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods.
